Lynne Edwards is an Australian primary school teacher and children's book author residing on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria with her husband and four children. A lifelong animal enthusiast, she has always shared her life with dogs and horses. Her extensive travels across Australia have deepened her appreciation for the country's diverse landscapes and wildlife.

With 35 years of experience of teaching and inspiring young minds, Lynne seamlessly translates her teaching passion into her writing, aiming to foster a lifelong love of reading and imagination in children. She has published several picture storybooks and a children's memory journal. Her latest work, a novel, "Stormy the Miracle Horse," marks the beginning of the 'Stormy' series, reflecting her love for horses and the Australian bush.

Through her storytelling, Lynne aspires to ignite curiosity and creativity in young readers.

Chuckles the Kookaburra

The book follows the adventures of Chuckles, a baby kookaburra who has a unique way of expressing himself. He doesn’t laugh like other kookaburras, he chuckles. This makes him feel out of place and lonely, until he meets some friendly animals who want to help him fit in. They do all sorts of funny things to make him laugh, but nothing seems to work. This baby book/child's memory journal is designed especially for foster/adopted children or those in kinship care. It has categories to fill in that are general in nature and not tailored toward a traditional family unit. As such this would also suit any child, and can be started at any age, without fear of missing sections such as specific birth or first year growing information (although there is space for this if required).
